USC Recruiting | Trojans eyeing McKeesport DL recruit Delvon Simmons

 

Following a solid showing at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl this past Saturday, the USC Trojans have offered a scholarship to McKeesport Area High School standout Delvon Simmons, a move that has the defensive lineman reconsidering his commitment.

Simmons, a four-star defensive tackle ranked 19th-overall by Scout.com, had three sacks in the All-American Bowl held in San Antonio, Texas, and clearly impressed recruiters with his athleticism and high intensity level.

The 6-foot-5, 262-lb Simmons has been on the radar for a number of prominent teams including Florida, Iowa, Miami (FL), Oregon, Rutgers and Texas Tech, but is said to be reconsidering his options following the scholarship offer from USC, according to the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette.

The Trojans had better move fast to woo Simmons, as the player will be making a final recruiting visit to the Florida campus later on this week.

Simmons commitment would be a major boon for USC and its defensive line, especially after heavily recruited five-star defensive tackle Viliami Moala chose the Cal Bears over the Trojans and Oregon Ducks earlier in the week.
