Three USC seniors, wide receiver Ronald Johnson, center Kristofer O'Dowd and cornerback Shareece Wright, are slated to take part in the 2011 Under Armour Senior Bowl, practice for which begins Monday.
Held in Mobile, Alabama, the Senior Bowl is an annual post-season exhibition game that showcases eligible seniors in front of fans, scouts and front office personnel.
Last year, former USC players Anthony McCoy, Jeff Byers, Taylor Mays and Stafon Johnson took part in the 2010 Senior Bowl festivities.
Two of those Trojans, McCoy and Mays, were both drafted in the 2010 NFL draft, while Byers and Johnson both signed with teams as undrafted free-agents.
This year, USC offers three intriguing prospects in Johnson, O'Dowd and Wright. All three players have battled injuries during their time at Southern California; but, when healthy, all three (Johnson, O'Dowd and Wright) have excelled at their given positions of wide receiver, center and cornerback, respectively.
Johnson not only showed off his pass-catching prowess as a senior with 64 catches for 692 yards and 8 touchdowns, the 6-foot, 185-lb receiver also excelled in the return game, returning 22 punts for 312 yards (14.2 ypr), including one 89-yard return for a touchdown.
After struggling through injuries in 2009, O'Dowd, the first true freshman to start at center in USC history, returned to anchor a Trojans offensive line in 2010 and is considered one of the top centers in all of college football.
Wright, arguably USC's best cover-corner last season, missed most of his junior year after being ruled ineligible, before returning in 2010 to start all 13 of the Trojans' games.
Other Pac-10 players participating in practices and the Senior Bowl itself include:
Kai Forbath (K, UCLA)
Mason Foster (LB, Washington)
Sione Fua (DL, Stanford)
Cameron Jordan (DL, California)
Jake Locker (QB, Washington)
Owen Marecic (RB, Stanford)
Casey Matthews (LB, Oregon)
Stephen Paea (DL, Oregon State)
Christian Young (S, UCLA)
